The KCBS Contest

Hammond is known for many things. Friday, March 23th, and Saturday, March 23th 2013, Hammond will also be known for being the BBQ capital of the State. This 10th year event will be located in Historic Downtown Hammond. This is a fully sanctioned event in the KCBS 2013 Tour of National BBQ competitions.

This event will draw more than 50+ traveling professional BBQ teams from more than 8 states and judges from all over the country. These teams will be mixed in with local teams that want to “show their stuff” against the best BBQ teams in the nation.

BBQ teams must compete in all four meat categories.
Pork Ribs
Pork Shoulder or Boston Butt
Beef Brisket
Chicken
Entry for all four meat categories: $250.00

Prize Money: $12,000 in total cash & prizes
$7001st Place in each category
$500 2nd Place in each category
$300 3rd Place in each category
$200 4th Place in each category
$100 5th Place in each category
GRAND CHAMPION $2,000 & Award
RESERVE CHAMPION $1,000 & Award
