TARC and Louisiana Special Olympics

Pat Carpenter Bourgeois, President and CEO of Special Olympics Louisiana states,

“We are honored to be chosen as a charity of choice once again for the Hammond Blues and BBQ challenge. This event assists us in offering unique programs to the Florida Parishes communities through our inclusion and outreach endeavors”.

Special Olympics Louisiana (SOLA) is a state-wide organization that changes lives by promoting understanding, acceptance and inclusion between people with and without intellectual disabilities. SOLA offers year-round programs for 13,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities in all 64 parishes with the help of 12,000 volunteers. We have health, education, leadership, family, training and sports programs for people beginning at age 2 and there is no upper age limit. There is no cost to participate in Special Olympics. For more information about Special Olympics Louisiana, please visit www.laso.org

TARC is working to promote the general welfare of children and adults in the Florida Parishes, fostering and developing programs and services for individuals with special needs, serving as an advocate for families, gathering and dispersing information, cooperating with all public and private providers in furtherance of these goals, aiding parents as it relates to individual challenges, and providing support and education while encouraging maximum growth through quality services. The Mission of TARC is to provide opportunities for children and adults with disabilities to realize their full potential, and to become self-directed and contributing citizens.  Please visit our website www.tarchammond.com.
